Currently, we find ourselves at a pivotal point in the search for budget-friendly gaming laptops with the best deals. With the new RTX 40-series laptops in the game, we're a bit cautious about recommending any RTX 30-series laptops unless they come with a killer discount. Why settle for an RTX 3060 when you can snag an RTX 4050 laptop with better performance at a similar price? And don't get us started on the mobile RTX 4060; it's holding its own against the likes of the RTX 3070 and even the Ti version, all without burning a hole in your wallet.

Sure, there's still a bunch of last-gen laptops hanging around, and retailers don't seem too keen on slashing prices yet. But here's the silver lining – we're seeing more and more awesome deals on RTX 40-series laptops popping up daily. So, unless you stumble upon a unicorn of a deal, don't sweat it too much for last-gen GPU laptops.

Regarding AMD systems, we'll admit the deals don't seem to drop as often as we'd like. But if we do spot any, we'll make sure to shout about it right here. Below, we've handpicked some of the best wallet-friendly gaming laptop deals we found online. Remember, this list isn't exhaustive, but these deals are definitely worth a look. And hey, check back regularly because the best gaming laptops tend to fly off the shelves when they go on sale. And if you're into desktops, we've compiled a list of the best cheap gaming PC deals. Happy shopping!

This might be one of the first RTX 40-series gaming laptops for under $1,000 we've seen so far. The MSI Cyborg is a nice little budget 1080p gaming laptop that should get a decent fps boost thanks to the magic of Nvidia's DLSS Frame Generation tech. It outperforms anything more expensive systems with an RTX 3050 GPU pretty soundly. But we don't love the 8GB of RAM.

The Gigabyte G5 (see our review) is our favorite affordable gaming laptop, packing the RTX 4060 GPU for some serious 1080p gaming performance in a budget package. It's a smart spec that essentially uses an otherwise older specification with the simple addition of just the new Nvidia RTX 40-series graphics chip. The 512GB SSD is a bit miserly, but that is upgradeable. The 8GB of DDR4 memory is also upgradeable, and you'll want to bump it to 16GB, so this is a bit of a project buy.

This is the RTX 4060 laptop to buy right now. For a little over $1,000, you can score a brand new RTX 4060 in a laptop that's not massively underpowered in some other way. Usually, we'd see manufacturers skimp on the SSD or RAM to get the cost down to this level, but here you're looking at a healthy 16GB of DDR5 and a 1TB NVMe drive. Lovely.

Proof that Nvidia's new RTX 40-series graphics tech doesn't always come at an unreasonable price. This RTX 4070 laptop is relatively affordable and comes ready to roll with 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. The 15.6-inch screen rocks IPS tech and 144Hz, too. OK, it runs last-gen Intel CPU tech, but with six performance cores, it has all the processing power you need for gaming.

If you're after a large-screen laptop for school, with a little Triple-A gaming on the side, the TUF A17 will certainly deliver. It is only a 1080p panel, however, which is a bit of a shame, but its RTX 4070 will run pretty much everything at that resolution. It also comes with an 8-core, 16-thread Ryzen CPU that also sports the 780M integrated graphics. That's the same as in all the latest handhelds, so can give decent gaming performance on the go, and should offer more gaming battery life than running on the RTX 4070 when away from a plug socket.

This is just about the most affordable RTX 4080 gaming laptop we've found, though it is worth noting it's of the less popular, somewhat vast 17.3-inch screen size. That does make it a good desktop replacement, though not necessarily a great portable system. Still, that Nvidia GPU will fly at the native resolution of this 1080p screen and could get close to those 360Hz figures on your favorite esports games.

Here's a big-screen gaming laptop, with an RTX 4070 inside it for a really solid price. The 14-core Raptor Lake CPU is speedy, and the Nvidia GPU is good slice of graphics silicon, but it's that screen that really sells the Vector for me.
